Meerut: The convoy of Asaduddin Owaisi, chief of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, has been attacked. Three-four people fired several rounds at his convoy at the toll block of Dasna in Ghaziabad. However, Owaisi is completely safe in this attack. The attack took place when he was returning after campaigning from Meerut.

Giving details of the attack, Owaisi tweeted, “I was on my way to Delhi after an election program in Kithore, Meerut (UP). 4 rounds fired. There were 3-4 people, all of them ran away and left the weapons there. My car got punctured, but I got out in another car and left. We are all safe.”

Election commission investigate
Owaisi further said, “I request the Election Commission to order an independent inquiry into this firing incident. The responsibility of conducting an independent investigation rests with the UP government and the Modi government. I will also meet the Speaker of the Lok Sabha in this matter.”

On firing on Owaisi’s car, IG Meerut says, “There is talk of shooting at Pilkhuwa Plaza, we are watching CCTV. Owaisi’s convoy was going through this route, there was a mutual debate among some people, so much information was received. At present no one is injured. He said whether the bullet was fired or not would be confirmed only after the CCTV examination. At the same time, toll workers say that no bullet has been fired. At the same time, the police have recovered the weapon used in the attack. Along with this, a suspect has also been arrested.
