Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has refused to resign amid the ongoing tussle over politics in Pakistan. Between March 25 and 28, voting can be held against him in the National Assembly on No Confidence Motion i.e. no-confidence motion. On Wednesday, Imran Khan said- ‘Listen to those who ask for my resignation. I know how to play till the last ball. I will not resign. I have trump cards left. The world will be shocked to see them.
The opposition will get a surprise
In a conversation with the media, Khan said- ‘Opposition has nothing to say and nothing to do. I am going to give them a big surprise. They have opened their cards, but I will play them on time. Let the no-confidence motion come in the National Assembly. Then let’s see what happens. It will never succeed.
According to the news of Pakistani news channel Geo TV, Imran Khan himself has said that he will thwart all the efforts of the opposition, he will not allow the no-confidence motion brought against him to succeed. However, Imran Khan did not say how he would face the no-confidence motion. Khan has said, “I will not resign under any circumstances. I will play till the last ball and a day before I will surprise them as they are still under pressure.”
He further said, ‘No one should be under the misconception that I will sit at home. I won’t resign, and why should I? Should I resign due to pressure from thieves?’ Imran Khan claimed that he has public support with him.
When to vote on the no-confidence motion
The Parliament session was to be called on March 21, but it was postponed till March 25. According to the rules, voting is necessary within 3 days and 7 days after the commencement of the Parliament session. In other words, voting can take place at any time between March 28 and April 2.
