New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain with light to moderate rain at a few places in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over North Madhya Maharashtra and Bihar. Apart from this, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy rains may occur over North Madhya Maharashtra, and Bihar. Light to moderate rain is possible over Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, East Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and parts of Telangana, Vidarbha, Haryana, and North Punjab. While light rain is possible at one or two places over Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Lakshadweep.
The southwest monsoon has started retreating from parts of southwest Rajasthan and Kutch in Gujarat. That is, the withdrawal of monsoon has started. However, in eight states, the paddy-growing states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have received deficient rains. For the first time since 2016, the withdrawal of monsoon started in the third week of September. The Met Office said that the conditions for withdrawal of monsoon – no rain for five days, anti-cyclone, and dry weather conditions in the region. The southwest monsoon has accomplished this. The withdrawal line of Southwest Monsoon passes through Khajuwala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Naliya.
It rained in these states on the last day
According to Skymet Weather, on the previous day, light to moderate rain with light to moderate rain occurred over Southeast Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, parts of Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Light to moderate rain with heavy to very heavy falls at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh and Daman. Delhi, parts of Haryana, Uttarakhand, northern Punjab, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, parts of Odisha, northern Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, parts of Madhya Pradesh, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, East Assam and Light to moderate rain has been recorded in Arunachal Pradesh. Light rain occurred at a few places over Northeast India, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Goa, and one or two places over East Rajasthan and Karnataka.
Rain forecast in two three days in parts of Delhi
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that light to moderate rains occurred in some parts of Delhi on Wednesday and some more rains are likely in the next two-three days. Light to moderate rain was recorded in some areas of West, Central, North, North-West, South, and South-East Delhi. Rainfall over the next few days may help cover the large rainfall deficit (49 percent in September alone) to some extent. Due to this, the air will also be clean and the temperature will also be controlled.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 25.1 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 34.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The IMD said that light to moderate rain may occur in some parts of Delhi on Thursday. The Safdarjung observatory has recorded only 52.9 mm of rain in September as against the normal 104.8 mm so far. August recorded 41.6 mm of rain, the lowest in at least 14 years, due to the absence of any favorable weather system over northwest India. Overall, Delhi has recorded a normal rainfall of 405.3 mm since June 1, when the monsoon season begins on June 1. The IMD had said on Tuesday that the southwest monsoon has retreated from southwest Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Kutch, three days after the normal date of September 17.
