Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump cast his ballot in West Palm Beach on Saturday morning and then told reporters that he had voted for a man named Trump. West Palm Beach is close to Trump’s private Mar-a-Lego club. He used to vote in New York but changed his residence to Florida last year. A large number of Trump supporters gathered outside the library where he cast his ballot. They were chanting slogans of ‘four more years’.
The president wore a mask while voting but took it off while talking to reporters. He described it as “very safe voting.” Democrat candidate Joe Biden has not yet voted and is expected to exercise his franchise in Delaware on election day, November 3. Unlike Florida, Delaware has not been offered a vote before. The president has a busy election schedule on Saturday in North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin.
In the 2016 presidential election, Trump won Florida with 49.02 percent of the vote, while his then Democratic rival Hillary Clinton narrowed down to 47.82 percent. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is currently ahead of Trump in Florida by 1.4 percentage points, or 48.2 percent – 46.8 percent, according to the recent Real Clear Politics polling average.
Trump will rally in three states
After the vote, the President will hold rallies in all three states. Trump won all three areas in 2016. Meanwhile, Biden will hold drive-in rallies in Pennsylvania on Saturday. According to local media, Biden’s planned rallies will be held in Luzern County, near his birthplace in Stratton, and in Bucks County, north of Philadelphia. According to a recent Reuters / Ipsos opinion poll released Wednesday, Biden is leading with 49 percent of registered voters, while Trump has 45 percent.
