Mumbai: It has been decided to reopen Hotels and Lodges in Maharashtra, which has been the worst affected by the Corona Virus outbreak in India so far. The hotel and lodge will start functioning again from July 8. However, from the government, they are allowed to work with only 33 percent capacity. That is, these hotels will be able to give only 33 percent of their total vacant rooms or beds to visitors. This decision has been taken in view of social distancing.
What did the government say in the instructions
Significantly, hotels and lodges in Maharashtra were closed after the lockdown started on 24 March across the country. Now, during the process of unlocking across the country, there was a demand to open them too. The state government has now given permission to open hotels and lodges by issuing adequate precautionary guidelines.
In the order issued by the Maharashtra government, it has been said that in lockdown-5, facilities like hotels and lodges can be started except for the hotspot area. But hotel owners will have to take full care of social distancing rules.
The only state with 2 lakh cases
Maharashtra is the only state in India where the total number of Covid-19 patients has crossed the 2 lakh mark. There have been a total of 2,06,619 cases of corona in the state, out of which 1,11,740 have also become healthy. At present, there are 86,057 active cases. 8,822 people have lost their lives due to the epidemic.
Good news came in Mumbai
In the last few weeks for the state government, there has been pleasant news from the financial capital Mumbai. There has been a decrease in the number of new cases here. The government has succeeded in controlling Corona in a large slum-like Dharavi. But in other districts, this speed has increased. Apart from Mumbai and Pune, the government has now increased vigilance and testing in other districts as well.
