Ayodhya will welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is coming to hoist the flag at the Ram Temple. Preparations have been made to decorate the Ram Temple from head to toe with 11 quintals of fragrant flowers for this ceremony. Excitement is visible in every home in Ram Nagari regarding the flag hoisting. The event symbolises the decisive culmination of a five-hundred-year struggle and the victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, which is why its style is different from the Pran-Pratishtha Mahotsav.

Ayodhya is being decorated to welcome PM Modi

Seventy per cent of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex is being greened. In view of the Prime Minister’s visit, the Horticulture Department has also been working to decorate the entire complex with fragrant flowers, both inside and out. District Horticulture Officer Arun Kumar Tiwari stated that the department is coordinating with the GMR Group to ensure a beautiful atmosphere. Dr. Anil Mishra, trustee of the pilgrimage site and chief host of the flag hoisting ceremony, is continuously monitoring the situation.

The celebrations began on November 21 with five days of Vedic rituals led by 108 scholars performing sacred fire offerings, planetary worship, and daily chanting of the Ramayana. Forest and Horticulture Minister Dinesh Singh inspected the preparations and confirmed that trucks loaded with flowers are arriving continuously from Delhi, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. While the exact quantity will be known only after decoration is complete, several hundred quintals of flowers have already reached the temple complex.

A spectacular view of Sita Swayamvara will be displayed on the top of the temple

The highlight of this event is a special display on the top of the temple. Sita Swayamvara will be displayed using laser lights and projection mapping on the top of the Ram Temple. This scene will show Lord Ram and Mother Sita exchanging garlands. This captivating scene is sure to delight devotees. Projection mapping is a technology that projects video and light onto irregular surfaces, such as buildings or objects, transforming them into dynamic and artistic displays. A trial of these laser lights was conducted on Friday night and continued late into Saturday.

The ceremony itself will take place between 11:58 am and 1 pm, when PM Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will jointly hoist the saffron flag featuring a sun symbol with ‘Om’ inscribed at its center and an image of the Kovidar tree, designed to withstand sun, rain, and strong winds. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also attend the historic event.

Special decorations for the ramparts and entrance gates

Not only the main temple, but also the ramparts and Kubera mound are being decorated magnificently. The ramparts, the six temples within, the Sheshavatar, the Sapta Mandapam, and Kubera mound will be adorned with an additional seven and a half quintals of flower garlands. Furthermore, the four entrance gates, including the Adi Shankaracharya gate, are also being decorated. Structures have been erected to adorn these gates and they are being covered in saffron. This decoration automatically makes this festival a Maha Mangal festival, especially since it falls on Vivah Panchami.

The entire route that PM Modi will take to reach the Ram Temple is being prepared with attractive flower pots, decorative plants, and bouquets. Special flower arrangements are being installed along the roadside edges, and the city’s main roads, intersections, and entrance gates are shining with floral decorations. Devotees arriving in Ayodhya will be welcomed by the enchanting fragrance of colorful flowers as soon as they enter the city.

Security and Infrastructure Arrangements

Authorities have implemented comprehensive security measures, including banning heavy vehicles from entering Ayodhya from midnight on November 23 and establishing multiple traffic diversions to manage vehicle flow and minimise congestion near the temple. The event is expected to give a significant boost to religious tourism in Ayodhya, which is being transformed into the world’s largest spiritual city under CM Yogi Adityanath’s vision, blending Vedic culture and Vastu Shastra with modern infrastructure like the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport and upgraded Ayodhya Dham Railway Station.

CM Yogi Adityanath has written a letter to state residents, comparing the flag hoisting ceremony to the temple inauguration in terms of significance and urging participation in the celebrations. The ceremony marks the anniversary of the completion of the Ram temple’s main construction work and represents a major showcase of the government’s efforts in Ayodhya over recent years.
