New Delhi: The Central Government has decided to buy 66 crore vaccines to overcome the vaccine crisis that started in the country. For this, the government will pay more than the current fixed price to the vaccine companies. According to sources, the government has also given orders to the companies. It is to be known that, at present, the government is buying Covishield and Covaxin at the rate of Rs 150 per dose.

According to sources, the central government decided to increase the fixed price of both vaccines. For the past several days, both the companies Serum and Bharat Biotech were demanding this. According to the new procurement policy, the government will buy about 37 crore vaccines of Covishield and 28.5 doses of Covaxin. The prices of which will be Rs 215 and Rs 225 respectively, which includes 5% GST.

A new purchase policy will be issued soon
According to central government sources, the government is going to issue a new procurement policy very soon. Prices will be revised after this policy is introduced. According to this policy, the government will buy 75 percent of the vaccines from companies.

Companies increase production of vaccines
In view of the Corona crisis in the country, the government has ordered all vaccine manufacturing companies to increase their production. At the same time, the effect of the increased prices will not be on the public. Because the government is vaccinating everyone for free. However, those vaccinating in private hospitals will have to pay a fixed price.
