Quetta: Six coal miners have died in an explosive methane gas blast Thursday night near the Afghanistan border in Baluchistan province in southwest Baluchistan province of Pakistan. Pakistani officials gave this information on Friday. Mines inspector Naseer Nasir said that the explosion was caused by the formation of gas inside the mine at Marwar Nagar, about 50 km east of Balochistan’s capital Quetta.
He said that two miners were also injured in this. He said the search and rescue operation has been completed but investigators are still working to find out the cause of the explosion.

Safety standards are generally ignored in the coal mining industry in Pakistan, leading to the deaths of many miners in recent years.
