
Islamabad: In another reshuffle in the cabinet, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Shaukat Tareen as the new finance minister of the country. This information was given by his office on Friday. Tareen is the fourth person in the Imran government to hold the finance ministry.
Banker Tareen (68) by profession has previously held the post of Finance Minister for some time during the Pakistan People’s Party government (2009-10), though he later resigned from his post to raise capital for his Silk Bank. Had given Tarien was facing corruption charges in the past and initially refused to accept the post.

It is not yet clear whether the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has dropped the charges against him. Shaukat Tareen is replacing Hammad Azhar who has been made the Minister of Energy after the reshuffle.
