Lucknow: In Dhanipur village of Ayodhya, a new controversy has arisen over the land allotted for Mosque. Two women of Delhi have filed a petition in the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court, disputing the 5 acres of land allotted for the mosque in 29 acres. Both of them have claimed their rights on 5 acres out of 29 allotted to the Sunni Central Waqf Board. This petition has been filed by Rani Kapoor Punjabi and Rama Rani Punjabi. It is also said that a lawsuit is pending before the Settlement Officer Consolidation in respect of the said 5 acres of land. A hearing in the case is expected on 8 February. Significantly, the petition. In compliance with the Supreme Court order, the UP government has allotted land for the mosque in Dhannipur village of Raunahi area of Ayodhya. On which the foundation stone of the mosque has been done on 26 January.
In the petition, Rani Kapoor Punjabi and Rama Rani Punjabi have said that their parents came from Punjab in Pakistan at the time of Partition. Later he settled in Faizabad district. At that time he also got a job as an auctionist in Nazul department. His father Gyan Chandra Punjabi was given a lease of about 28 acres in village Dhannipur, Pargana Magalasi, Tehsil Sohawal, District Faizabad for five years for Rs 1560. Even after five years, the family of the petitioners remained in the use of the said land and the name of the father of the petitioners was recorded in the revenue records related to the said land as Assamese. However, in the year 1998, Sohawal SDM removed his father’s name from the relevant records of the said land. Against this, the mother of the petitioners fought a long legal battle with the Additional Commissioner and a decision was taken in their favor.
Case under consideration
The petitioners said that during the consolidation, a dispute arose again regarding the revenue record of the said land and a case was filed before the Settlement Officer Consolidation against the order of the Consolidation Officer, which is still under consideration. It has been said in the petition that despite the matter being under consideration, five acres of land was given by the state government for the construction of the mosque.
