New Delhi/Mumbai: In a concerning development from the entertainment industry, Gurcharan Singh, popular for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the beloved television series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been reported missing since April 22. The actor’s disappearance came to light when his father, Hargeet Singh, filed a missing person’s complaint at the Delhi Kepalam Police Station on April 25.
Gurcharan, a resident of Mumbai, had traveled to Delhi to celebrate his father’s birthday and was scheduled to return on April 22. However, according to a close friend of the actor, Gurcharan never made it back to Mumbai. The friend also revealed that Gurcharan had been battling health issues for some time. Adding to the concern, Gurcharan’s mobile phone has been unreachable since April 24.
Following the father’s complaint, Delhi Police have initiated an investigation, registering a case under IPC section 365, which pertains to kidnapping. The police have also obtained CCTV footage that is being examined as part of the ongoing efforts to locate Gurcharan.
The initial probe has uncovered that Gurcharan was indeed scheduled to fly back to Mumbai on the morning of April 22. Despite his flight being booked for 8:30 AM, he did not board the plane, and his whereabouts since then remain unknown. The case took a serious turn when Hargeet Singh lodged a formal complaint at the Palam police station on April 25 at 3 PM, prompting an intensified search for the actor.
The entertainment community and fans alike have expressed deep concern for Gurcharan’s safety and are hopeful for his safe return. The police are actively pursuing all leads and are calling for anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
