Beijing: China is continuously conducting missile tests to strengthen its army. Now citing leaked US intelligence documents, several media reports have said that China tested 6500 mph hypersonic missiles earlier this year. The Sun has also said that the Chinese hypersonic missile has the capability to penetrate the US missile defense system as well. Media reports said that Beijing fired one of its experimental missiles, the DF-27 hypersonic glide vehicle, on 25 February.
The BBC said that the leaked documents showed that the hypersonic missile covered a distance of 1200 kilometers in 12 minutes. Explain that hypersonic missiles have very high speeds (5 to 25 times the speed of sound) which makes them very difficult for conventional missile interception systems to shoot down. Hypersonic missiles can travel at a speed of 8 kilometers per second. The high speed creates a plasma cloud in front of them while in the air, and the cloud blocks radio waves, making interception more difficult. Countries like the US, China, Russia, and others are spending huge resources to improve their hypersonic missiles as they are seen as weapons that can give a decisive advantage.

The hypersonic missile fired by China is reported as the third generation of its nuclear weapons. As reported by Chinese media, the missile is capable of carrying 10 nuclear warheads and has a range of over 14,000 km. This, in theory, enables it to attack any location on Earth. US intelligence leaks have created a storm in global politics. It has been learned from the leak that America is also collecting information about allied countries. US officials focused on the possibility that Russia was behind the leak, but now Jack Teixeira, a 21-year-old member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, has been arrested for leaking the documents.
