New Delhi: After a long wait, the Election Commission has finally announced the dates for the by-elections in several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha. The Election Commission has announced the by-election date for 56 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat in several states including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur. Votes will be cast on these seats on November 3 and counting will be held on November 10. However, the Election Commission will not contest the by-elections in 7 seats in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. By-elections will also be held on one seat of Lok Sabha from Bihar. Voting here will be held on November 7 and counting of votes will take place on November 10. With this, the by-election for the 4 assembly seats of Manipur will be held on November 7. It is worth mentioning that earlier the announcement of the by-election dates was also being done at the time of the announcement of Bihar assembly election dates, but then the Chief Election Commissioner said that the dates of the by-election after a special meeting to be held on the 29th. There will be no by-elections in these seats
According to the Election Commission, the seats that will not have a by-election currently are Rangapara, Sibsagar seat in Assam, Kuttanad and Chavara seats in Kerala, Tiruvottiyur, Gudiyattam (SC) and Falakat (SC) seats in Tamil Nadu. The Election Commission has decided not to hold a by-election in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal. The Election Commission said that it has been decided not to hold elections on 7 seats based on the input from these states. After talking to these states later, the Election Commission will decide about the election.

By-elections in 28 seats in Madhya Pradesh, MLAs were disqualified
Maximum 28 seats are in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly where by-elections will be held. Here many MLAs were disqualified due to collective party change. On the other hand, the dates for the by-elections in 8 seats of Gujarat have been announced. The 8 seats in Gujarat that will go to polls include Botad, Gadhada, Kaprada, Karjan, Dang, Abadasa, Limdi, and Morbi. The seats which will go to polls are 8 seats in Gujarat, seven in UP, two each in Jharkhand, Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha and Karnataka and one each in Telangana and Chhattisgarh.
By-elections will be held in 7 seats of Uttar Pradesh
The bye-election dates have also been announced in Uttar Pradesh. There will be a by-election for 7 seats on November 3 and the result will come on November 10. The seats which will go to polls include Naugwa Sadat, Bulandshahar, Tundla (reserved), Bangarmau, Ghatampur (reserved) in Kanpur district, Deoria assembly in Deoria district and Malhani assembly in Jaunpur district.
Notification will be issued on 9 October
Notification of by-elections will be issued on 9 October while notification will be issued on 13 October for one parliamentary seat in Bihar and two assembly seats in Manipur. October 16 is the last date for nomination submission. For Bihar and Manipur, this date is set to be 20 October. The nomination will be examined on October 17, for Bihar and Manipur, the date is October 21. The last date for withdrawal of nominations in the by-elections is 19 October. The voting date will be November 3 and the counting of votes will take place on November 10.
