New Delhi: BMW India has made a significant move to strengthen its position in the domestic luxury automobile market by introducing four exciting offerings. Let’s dive into the details:
1. BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase (LWB)
- The much-awaited 5 Series LWB sedan has arrived, and it’s here to redefine luxury. Priced at an introductory Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom), this eighth-generation sedan is imported via the CBU route.
- Under the hood, it boasts a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine coupled with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The result? A swift 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 6.5 seconds.
- Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, emphasized that India is the first right-hand drive market to introduce the 5 Series in its long wheelbase avatar. This sedan is tailor-made for premium clientele, offering exceptional comfort and versatility for any occasion.
2. Mini Cooper S and Countryman Electric
- The iconic Mini brand has also stepped up its game. The updated Mini Cooper S now packs a punch with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds.
- But that’s not all! The all-new Mini Countryman Electric joins the lineup, priced at Rs 54.90 lakh. It shares its underpinnings with the BMW iX1, which is already making waves in India.
- The Countryman Electric features a 66.45 kWh battery pack with a WLTP range of 462 km on a single charge. Plus, using a DC charger, it can charge from 0 to 80 percent in under half an hour.
3. BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter
- BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler arm of the German automaker, has unveiled its luxury electric scooter, the CE 04, in India. Priced at Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom), this e-scooter is a game-changer.
- With an 8.5 kWh battery pack, it offers a claimed range of up to 130 km on a full charge. The liquid-cooled electric motor generates 42 hp, propelling the CE 04 from 0 to 50 kmph in just 2.6 seconds.
