While some speculated that he might be replacing superstar Salman Khan, Kapoor clarifies that both actors have their unique identities and reputations. Salman Khan has been synonymous with Colors TV’s reality show Bigg Boss since its fourth season, but now the makers have chosen Anil Kapoor to host the OTT version of the popular show.
Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan share a history of collaboration in films like “No Entry,” “Race 3,” “Biwi No. 1,” and “Yuvraj.” Kapoor reveals that Salman Khan, the former host of Bigg Boss, is genuinely excited about him taking over the reins for the OTT version. Kapoor emphasizes that no one can truly replace Salman Khan, just as no one can replace him. The word “replacement” doesn’t fit; rather, they are each bringing their distinct flavor to the show.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Kapoor says, “I’ve wanted to explore something different for a long time. While I’ve done numerous films and shows, hosting Bigg Boss is a fresh challenge that excites me.” He considers Salman Khan a younger brother and friend, emphasizing that actors are often replaced for various reasons, and it’s all part of the industry.
Addressing the inevitable online trolling, Kapoor takes it in stride. “Trolling has become part of life, especially on social media,” he says. “I’ve worked with honesty and integrity, and most responses have been positive by God’s grace.” As the host, Kapoor is ready to navigate the inevitable conflicts within the Bigg Boss house wisely.
