BSF women jawans

New Delhi: On 26 January this year, on the occasion of Republic Day, the eyes of the entire nation were kept on television when women BSF jawans performed amazing stunts (acrobatics on a motorcycle) on a motorcycle. From the President, the Prime Minister to the common people, everyone was convinced of this stunt. Women cadets performed this daredevil stunt with such skill that everyone involved in the parade kept admiring it. The performance of these women soldiers was amazing, but you will be surprised to know that in the more dangerous ways they performed, the life story of all of them is equally full of sorrows.

Actually, there is a story of pain behind all these women soldiers. These women have lost their husband or their father while in BSF duty. After that, she has reached here with hard work. 38-year-old Sunita is a part of Seema Bhawani team in BSF. In 2016, her husband, who was a constable in the BSF, died. With three children, Sunita of UP Etah had to face a lot of problems. A few days after the death of her husband, Sunita came to know that even those who live around you in this world cannot help you.

The same story of all-female soldiers
Sunita is one of the 14 women who gave a Daredevil performance at Rajpath. These women are part of a 150-member women’s team in the BSF, who were given jobs in the BSF after the death of their husbands or their fathers. Therefore, the story of their pain is almost the same. All of them have lost their husband or father in the line of duty. These women include recruits in the age group of 19 to 40 years.

Such a daredevil performance in just 15 days of training
The surprising thing is that these women soldiers of BSF were given only 15 days of training to perform motorcycle stunts. Sunita says that from 15 days ago I used to get up at 4 in the morning. After this, I used to reach the training ground by 6 o’clock by preparing food for the children. It was very tough training, but our trainers are very good and they instilled confidence in all of us.

Dolly was the youngest in this Daredevil team. 19-year-old Dolly’s father died in 2009 while on election duty in Jharkhand. Dolly was only 6 years old then. Dolly’s mother, living in a small house in Aligarh, had to take care of her four daughters with great difficulty. Dolly, the eldest of the sisters, has joined BSF after doing B.Sc. But when we saw that 40-year-old female jawans are also participating in this, then we were encouraged. Dolly said, when I came back home after the performance, my mother said, you are my eldest son.

If given a chance, ahead in every work – BSF DG
This Daredevil team of BSF included 14 other women soldiers. Constable Manju Bala of Jhajhar had joined the BSF in 2019 at the age of 38 after the death of her husband. Similarly, the astonishing performance of Constable Jyoti was given a place in many newspapers. The Jyoti of Bhiwani was hanging on the bike during a motorcycle stunt. People were sweating seeing him. The biggest thing is that these women were asked to take part in this amazing feat only 15 to 20 days in advance. BSF DG Pankaj Singh said that we are proud of our female jawan. All these women have been recruited recently and their training has been completed a few days back. BSF believes that if given a chance, our women can do everything. We will not only give a new direction to the lives of these women soldiers but will also take them forward in achieving further achievements.
