Now BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has given a clear answer to this. It was almost clear from his statement that the Indian Premier League (IPL) would not be held in India.
IPL will be held abroad
In a conversation with Test team opener Mayank Agarwal, Ganguly said on the question about the status of Coronavirus in India, “I think the next two-three-four months will be a little harder.” We just have to bear it and life should become normal by the end of the year or by the beginning of next year. The BCCI has already planned to host the IPL between September and November. The first choice of the board would be to organize the tournament in the country but it seems difficult due to the increasing case of coronavirus. In terms of the number of infected with Covid-19, India has reached the third place after America and Brazil. After the UAE and Sri Lanka, on Monday, New Zealand has also offered to host the tournament.
In the ‘Dada Open with Mayank’ program, the former Indian captain said, ‘I will wait for the vaccine to come out. Until then, we have to be a little more careful. We know what’s going on and we don’t want to get sick, saliva is an issue. Maybe once you get vaccinated, like any other disease, everything will be cured.
