New Delhi: The Indian men’s football team has made a remarkable jump in the latest FIFA World Rankings. India has achieved the best ranking ever. India has occupied the 100th rank in the latest World Rankings released by FIFA. It is being told that the Indian men’s football team has got the best ranking ever.
The Indian men’s football team reached the 100th rank with total points of 1204.90. This is the fourth-best ranking achieved by the Indian men’s football team in history. The team’s rank came up to 94th rank in 1996, 99th in 1993, and 96th rank in 2017 to 2018.
According to the latest FIFA rankings, the Indian team has beaten countries like Lebanon and New Zealand due to their better performance in the recent past. Significantly, after about 5 years, the Indian men’s football team has come among the 100 best teams in the world.
FIFA rankings will come as a confidence boost for India before the crucial semi-finals of the South Asia Football Federation on 1 July. India will be going against Lebanon which is ranked 102 in the FIFA world rankings.
After sliding from the 96th position in the year 2018, now Team India Football has secured a place in the top 100 clubs of the FIFA World Rankings.
