Texas: Nine people, including a 27-year-old woman from Hyderabad, were killed in a mass shooting incident at a mall in Texas on Saturday. This firing took place at around 3:30 pm on Saturday, due to which the shopkeepers of Allen Premium Outlets Mall panicked and ran away from the spot. The Hyderabad woman killed in the mass shooting has been identified as 27-year-old Aishwarya Thatikonda. This incident happened when Aishwarya was shopping in the mall with her friends. A gunman opened fire in Texas, killing at least nine people before being shot by a police officer.
Aishwarya was the daughter of Additional District Judge Tatikonda Narasireddy, who is currently working at the Ranga Reddy District Commercial Court complex. When the shooting started at the Texas Mall, the shopkeepers fled. Videos of shopkeepers exiting the mall were captured by cameras. Hearing the sound of gunfire, there was a stampede among the people to hide. Eyewitnesses told that some people had taken shelter there for two hours before the police killed the attacker in the mall.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott called the mass shooting an unspeakable tragedy and said the state government was ready to provide any assistance to local authorities. The White House announced that President Joe Biden was informed about the incident and offered all assistance to local authorities. However, this sad incident is not an isolated case in America. There have been at least 198 mass shooting incidents in 2023. The increasing number of mass shootings in America is a growing concern. Immediate action needs to be taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
