New Delhi: The short video sharing app TikTok is banned in India. Meanwhile, internet giant Youtube is working on short videos and live streams. The company has rolled out a feature that will allow users to capture and share video and live stream moments. Clips can be between 5 and 60 seconds in length and have a new URL attached to them.
Clip on YouTube allows you to select a 5-60 second segment of a creator content (video upload and stream) that can be shared with others on the platform, the company said in a statement. If you’re viewing content from a single channel, you’ll see a clip icon in the video that will allow you to select the part of the video you want to clip.
Users can copy, embed or send the clip via social media like Facebook, Tweet, or Reddit. You can also email it and set the length of the clip by dragging a slider.
The feature is available on Android
YouTube, part of the US technology giant Google, says it will run on a clipped video loop. This feature is now available on desktop and Android and will be coming to iOS soon.
This feature is currently in alpha testing and is only available with select creators and is similar to the feature available on Twitch.
