New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the world’s longest river cruise on 13 January. In 50 days, this cruise will travel 3200 km through the system of 27 rivers including Ganga-Bhagirathi-Hooghly, Brahmaputra, and West Coast Canal.
Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on December 30 that this cruise would be the most unique cruise in the world. This will give recognition to the ever-increasing tourism in India. I appeal to the people of West Bengal to take full advantage of this opportunity. PM Modi had said this when he was inaugurating several schemes for West Bengal. During this program, he also mentioned the 13th.
A river cruise will visit 50 tourist centers
According to the information, during its journey, this cruise will visit 50 tourist centers including heritage sites. This includes Ganga Aarti of Varanasi, Kaziranga National Park, and Sundarbans. This cruise will travel about 1100 km in Bangladesh. According to the news of Times of India, an official of the Inland Waterways Authority of India told that this cruise will be operated by a private company. At present, the full attention of the central government is on development and waterways. The department is working more seriously on this. A navigation facility and jetty are being arranged for the successful operation of this cruise.

This is India’s goal
Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal recently said that coastal-river transport and cruise service are among the main priorities of the central government. Prime Minister Modi had said that the central government has taken up the task of building 100 waterways in the country. Along with this, a target has also been set to operate cruise ships in these waterways.
Along with this, cargo service was also included in the priorities. In ancient times, waterways were one of the biggest means of trade and tourism. Because of this, many banks of rivers and seas prospered and flourished. Along with this, industries also developed there. India aims to maximize the traffic of cruise services.
