New Delhi: There is a lot of discussion going on about Masood Khan of Pakistan these days. The main reason for the discussion is that Masood Khan has been nominated by Imran Khan’s government as its ambassador to America, but the American Joe Biden administration has been hanging on his approval for two months. That’s why Pakistan is getting a lot of disgrace. Masood Khan was named his ambassador to the US by Imran Khan in November itself, but his appointment is taking much longer than the approval deadline. Actually, the Republican Party MP in America has made serious allegations against Masood Khan.
In America, Republican MP Scott Perry has said in his letter to US President Joe Biden that Masood Khan is a jihadi and a true supporter of terrorists. More than that, Masood Khan has indulged in undermining American interests as well as the security of our Indian allies. Hence Masood Khan’s nomination should be canceled.
Who is Masood Khan?
70-year-old Masood Khan is a 1970 batch officer of the Pakistani Foreign Service. Masood Khan was born in Pakistan’s illegally occupied Rawalkot and he was also the President of Pakistan’s illegally occupied Azad Kashmir from 2016 to 2021. His first major position in the Pakistan Foreign Service began soon after 9/11 when he was made a spokesperson in the Pakistan Foreign Office. He has been very friendly with the press, which has been praised by Indian journalists as well. There are very few officers from illegally occupied Kashmir in Pakistan, so they have become quite popular in the Pakistani army as well. Soon he was appointed by the Musharraf government as the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations in Geneva. In 2008, he was appointed Pakistan’s ambassador to China by the Yusuf Raza Gilani government. Four years later, he became the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN in New York. On his return to Pakistan, he was made the President of Pakistan’s illegally occupied Kashmir.
Anti-india Masood khan
Masood Khan is often known for his anti-India and sympathetic attitude towards terrorists. Even when there was peace between India and Pakistan, they have been seen opposing India’s stand. They believe that India has occupied Kashmir while Pakistan itself does not consider Kashmir as its official one. Masood Khan, on the other hand, often supports terrorists. Recently, he said that when America can talk to the once dangerous enemy Taliban, then it should also find a way for the release of Afia Siddiqui, who is in an American prison. Afia Siddiqui is popularly known as Lady Al Qaeda. Masood Khan has also described the dreaded terrorist Burhan Bani killed by the Indian Army as a hero. He worked closely with China to thwart Indian efforts to ban Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar at the UN. Masood Khan has been chosen by Imran Khan because of his anti-India and anti-Modi stand.
