New Delhi: WhatsApp, the instant messaging app owned by Meta, has become a vital tool for communication in various aspects of our lives. Whether it is personal or professional matters, WhatsApp offers an easy and convenient way to stay in touch with others. To enhance the user experience, WhatsApp constantly updates its platform with new features and changes. In this regard, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new change that will replace the green checkmark with a blue checkmark for verified channels on Android devices.

This information was shared by WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp features. According to WABetaInfo, this change will affect not only verified channels but also verified business accounts on WhatsApp.

The reason behind this change is that Meta wants to make the verification badges consistent across all its apps, such as Instagram and Facebook. On these platforms, the verification badge is blue in color. By changing the color of the WhatsApp verification badge to blue, Meta can create a uniform visual identity across its platforms. This will also help users to easily recognize verified accounts and channels on different apps. The blue checkmark for verified channels and businesses is still under development and will be available in a future update of the app.

Apart from this change, WhatsApp is also making its payment service easier for users. Meta recently announced that it has partnered with global payment companies like PayU and Rogerpay to enable users to use various payment methods on WhatsApp. Users will be able to use debit cards, credit cards, net banking, or any UPI apps to make payments through WhatsApp. This will make WhatsApp a single platform for both communication and payment.
