The case of Haridwar hates speech has also reached the Supreme Court. In this case, the top court has issued notice to the Uttarakhand government in Haridwar and Delhi for allegedly spreading hate speech and has sought a response within 10 days. The Supreme Court has given this order on a petition seeking a direction to ensure investigation and action against people giving hate speech. Subsequently, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the Uttarakhand Police recorded the statements of two named accused and at least 12 witnesses in its ongoing investigation.

According to media reports, a police officer included in the Special Investigation Team said that two out of the five accused have been questioned so far in the hate speech case. His statement was recorded on Wednesday. Apart from this, the SIT has also recorded the statements of 12 more people as witnesses, including the complainants of the case. Police will soon interrogate the remaining three other accused.
