Ayodhya: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has introduced a new tech-driven initiative aimed at improving the experience of pilgrims and tourists visiting Ayodhya. Under this project, advanced digital display kiosks are being installed at strategic locations to offer real-time information about major religious and historical sites, including the iconic Ram Mandir and Hanumangarhi temple.

Initially, these smart kiosks will be placed at four key entry points such as railway stations and airports to ensure maximum accessibility for visitors. The initiative is spearheaded by the Ayodhya Pilgrimage Development Authority (Shri Ayodhya Ji Tirtha Vikas Parishad), which is responsible for implementing and monitoring the project. Each kiosk is estimated to cost around ₹2.5 lakh.

Speaking about the importance of this initiative, Santosh Sharma, CEO of Ayodhya Pilgrimage Development Authority, stated:

“Our goal is to provide pilgrims with a convenient, informative, and seamless experience during their visit to Ayodhya. These kiosks will offer essential details about temple timings, distances to various attractions, historical significance, cultural insights, and tourism-related information. This effort will significantly boost tourism in Ayodhya.”

Advanced Features of the Kiosks

These modern kiosks will feature user-friendly touchscreen interfaces allowing visitors to easily access relevant information. Additionally, they will include voice-command capabilities for effortless navigation. A built-in QR code scanner will enable tourists to instantly download important details directly onto their smartphones.

To guarantee uninterrupted service even during power outages or connectivity issues, each kiosk will be equipped with internet connectivity, robust power backup systems, and security measures designed to prevent vandalism or damage.

Benefits for Visitors

Pilgrims and tourists will greatly benefit from these kiosks by receiving timely updates on temple opening hours, special ceremonies (aarti timings), historical context of Ayodhya’s landmarks, cultural events happening around the city, and guidance on local transportation options. This comprehensive information hub aims not only to simplify travel plans but also enrich visitors’ overall understanding of Ayodhya’s rich heritage.

If successful in its initial phase, authorities plan to expand this initiative further by installing additional kiosks across other prominent locations within Ayodhya. With these digital kiosks becoming operational soon, the Uttar Pradesh government hopes to significantly enhance visitor convenience while promoting Ayodhya as a major destination for spiritual tourism in India.
