Washington: America has asked all the citizens living in India to leave the country as soon as possible. The US State Department has cited limited health arrangements in India for this. Apart from this, in the health alert issued by the government, US citizens have been asked to register in the government alert ‘STEP’. It has been claimed in the alert that US citizens have been refused admission in hospitals due to “lack of space”.
In a tweet issued by the government, it said that due to Covid-19 cases, health services are quite limited. American citizens contemplating leaving the country should use commercial options. The US Embassy in India said, “American citizens thinking of leaving India should take advantage of the commercial transportation available now.” There are daily direct flights between India and America. At the same time, there are also flight options available for American citizens via Paris and Frankfurt.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention i.e. CDC has issued advisory for citizens traveling from America to India. People are advised to avoid traveling to India at a time when in the current situation, even fully vaccinated people are at risk of coming into contact with the virus. The special thing is that America is constantly helping India to overcome the Kovid crisis.
In India, more than 3 lakh new cases of infection are being reported every day for the past one week. Apart from this, the number of deaths along with active cases in the country is also increasing rapidly. The health system in the country has deteriorated due to sudden increase in patients. Patients have to worry about oxygen and from bed in the hospital to essential medicines.
