New Delhi: Ships carrying crude oil in many countries of the world including India are stuck in Turkish waters in the Black Sea. This problem has arisen after Turkey changed the inspection process of insurance papers for oil tankers. Many ships carrying millions of barrels of crude oil to the global markets have been stuck in the sea for the last few days after Turkey blocked them and cannot move forward.
Turkey has issued a new rule related to insurance after fixing the price limit of Russian crude oil of G-7 countries. Turkey is now demanding that insurance companies show a guarantee cover from the ships, which states that the oil loaded on the vessel has been bought at a price of $ 60 a barrel or less. The G-7 countries have put a cap of $60 per barrel on Russian crude. That is, Russian oil will not be more expensive than this. One million barrels of Russian crude oil is loaded in the tanker carrying oil to India.
Turkey put an obstacle because
Many countries led by America were demanding to impose a price cap on the crude oil of Russia after the Ukraine war. He said that Russia is making a lot of profit by selling crude oil at expensive prices and is using it for the war in Ukraine. Recently, the group of G7 countries and its allies have approved setting a limit of $60 per barrel on Russian oil prices. Turkey is also included in NATO. That is why now he has stopped the ships passing through crude oil to implement the price limit imposed on Russian oil.
20 cargo ships are standing
At least 20 cargo ships carrying 18 million barrels of crude oil have been waiting for days to pass through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles shipping straits after Turkey asked for new papers. Earlier, Turkish officials used to allow the ship to leave only after seeing the insurance documents of crude oil-laden ships on the website of the insurance company. But, under pressure from America and England, Turkey has stopped doing so.
Ship coming to India also got stuck
Most of the cargo ships stuck in the Black Sea are carrying crude oil to Europe. At the same time, some tankers are going to India, South Korea, and Panama. Nineteen tankers have CPC crude from Kazakhstan. On the other hand, a tanker, which is bringing oil to India, has one million barrels of Russian crude oil loaded in it.
