Indore: In a heart-wrenching incident at a yoga center in Indore, retired soldier Balwinder Singh Chhabra lost his life while performing on the patriotic song “Maa Tujhe Salaam.” The audience, initially unaware of the severity of the situation, continued to clap, mistaking it for part of his act. Chhabra, holding the tricolor flag in his hand, stumbled and fell to the ground during his performance. Little did anyone know that this fall would be his last.
The free yoga camp, organized by Aastha Yoga Kranti Abhiyan at Agrasen Dham in Phuti Kothi, aimed to connect the youth with the ancient practice of yoga. Chhabra, a proud soldier, took the stage with the tricolor, symbolizing his unwavering love for the nation. However, fate had other plans. As he stumbled, the crowd’s applause continued, assuming it was all part of the act. Only when a concerned bystander attempted to wake him did they realize the gravity of the situation—Chhabra had lost consciousness.
He was rushed to the hospital, but tragically, he was declared dead upon arrival. In a final act of selflessness, Chhabra’s family donated his eyes, skin, and other organs before his last rites. His sacrifice, both in life and death, serves as a poignant reminder of the dedication and valor of our armed forces.
