Jaipur: In a heart-wrenching tragedy, five-year-old Aryan succumbed after being trapped in a 150-foot-deep borewell for over 55 hours in Kalikhad village, Dausa district. Despite relentless rescue efforts, Aryan was declared dead upon being brought to the hospital late Wednesday night.

The Fateful Incident

The accident occurred on Monday afternoon when Aryan, playing near his mother, accidentally fell into the open borewell, located just 100 feet from their home. His father, Jagdish Meena, was away at the market when the tragedy unfolded.

“He was playing near his mother when the incident happened. We never imagined something like this could occur so close to home,” said Meena.

The Rescue Efforts

The rescue operation, launched immediately after the incident, turned into a race against time. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Civil Defense, and local experts worked tirelessly to save Aryan. A piling machine was deployed to dig a parallel pit 125 feet deep to reach the child.

However, the operation faced significant hurdles, including a machine breakdown that delayed progress by several hours. Oxygen was continuously supplied to the borewell in an attempt to keep Aryan alive. Unfortunately, no movement was detected from the child after 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

A Devastating Outcome

After over 55 hours of intense efforts, Aryan was finally retrieved from the borewell late Wednesday night. He was rushed to the district hospital in an advanced life support ambulance. However, Chief Medical Officer Deepak Sharma confirmed that Aryan was brought in lifeless.

“We conducted an ECG twice, but there was no sign of life,” said Sharma. “Despite our best efforts, we couldn’t save him.”

The Family’s Pain and Call for Action

Aryan’s tragic death has left the family and the community in profound grief. His mother witnessed the horrifying accident, and his father is now grappling with the irreplaceable loss.
