New Delhi: UPSC Civil Services Main 2021: Union Public Service Commission, UPSC Civil Services (Main) 2021 exam timetable has been released on the official website upsc.gov.in. UPSC Mains Exam, 2021 will be held from January 7 to January 9, 2022, and January 15 and January 16, 2022.
Exam time:
1st shift – 9 am to 12 noon
Afternoon Session – 2 PM to 5 PM
The civil services exam will be held in two stages
(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) – for selection of candidates for Civil Services (Main) Examination.
(ii) Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview) – for selection of candidates to various services and posts.
Exam Pattern & Selection Process:
The Civil Services (Main) Examination will consist of a written examination and an interview/personality test. The written examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type in the subjects prescribed in sub-section (B) of Section-II, out of which two papers will be of qualified nature.
Marks obtained in all compulsory papers (Paper-I to VII) and marks obtained in the Interview/Personality Test will be counted for ranking.
Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in the written part of the Civil Services (Main) Examination will be called for an Interview/Personality Test by them.
The number of candidates to be called for an interview/personality test will be almost twice the number of vacancies to be filled. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 275 marks (without the minimum qualifying marks).
The marks obtained by the candidates in the Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written part as well as Interview/Personality Test) will determine their final ranking.
The candidates will be allotted to various services keeping in view their rank in the examination and the preferences expressed by them for various services and posts.
