New York: In the world, many types of research are being done to prevent infection of the new variant of Coronavirus, Omicron Variant, and to increase immunity in the body. Some scientists are advising to make a new vaccine, which is especially effective against Omicron. However, new research done on monkeys in America suggests that the current booster dose is enough against this variant. There is no need to make a new vaccine for this.
This research has been done by scientists from the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Some such monkeys were included in this, which had received both doses of the Moderna vaccine. The monkeys were divided into two groups. After 9 months, the first group was given the same booster dose of the Moderna vaccine, while the second group was given a special vaccine targeting Omicron.
Both types of vaccines are effective against Omicron
Scientists found that both types of vaccines in monkeys developed the same immunity against all variants of the corona. Daniel Dueck, a scientist involved in the study, said, ‘This is very good news. According to him, this research proves that we do not need to make a separate vaccine for Omicron.

Professor John Moore says that there is a huge advantage of doing such research on monkeys. Through this, we can vaccinate monkeys, increase their immunity, re-infect them with the virus and test their immunity once again. According to Moore, even after this research, we should wait for the data of humans. Moore was not a part of this research.
