The BJP celebrated its victory in the Bihar Assembly elections in almost the same way as it did in the second success of the Modi government in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But is Bihar’s victory so big? Or the failure on the economic front in Modi 2.0, the failure of the health care infrastructure in the crisis of the Corona epidemic, the flight of workers, unemployment, the inconvenience of the Chinese troops on the border, the government is finding it difficult to respond through this victory. Trying to tell that the public has stamped its policies!
BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda even mentioned in his speech that this victory is “the seal of the people on the work done by the Modi government in the Corona epidemic.”
PM Modi said, “Behind the success of BJP is its governance model. When people think of governance, they think of the BJP. This is the identity of BJP governments – good governance. ” He further said, “BJP is the only national party in the country in which the poor, the oppressed, the oppressed, the exploited, the deprived, see their representation.”

In fact, if you look at the statistics of the election results, this victory is not as big as it is being publicized or the government’s dock media is reading about it. In this election, BJP and JDU i.e. NDA alliance got 1,57,01,226 votes and the grand alliance of RJD and Congress and Left parties got 1,56,88,458 votes.
The gap between success and failure of power was decided by a margin of just 12,774 votes. That is, the victory-defeat margin was determined by only 0.03 percent of the votes.
In such a fiercely contested election, 7,06,252 or about 1.7 per cent votes have been cast for NOTA, which shows that there is no less dissatisfaction among the people regarding the functioning of the government and political options.
Even though the BJP is trying to make this victory big because it has got more seats in this election than last time, but its vote share has decreased. In the 2015 assembly elections, the BJP had contested 157 seats and won 53 seats. Then he got 24.42% votes, but this time he got 19.46% votes.
Compared to the figures for the 2015 Assembly elections, this time the NDA alliance has almost doubled its average of winning / losing seats by a narrow margin. In the last assembly elections, the NDA alliance had won or lost about 10 per cent of the seats with less than 2 per cent votes. While this time the figure has reached around 16 per cent.
RJD got more votes
In the 2015 assembly elections, RJD got 18.4 percent votes which increased to 23.1 this time. The difference between these two assembly elections has been the change in the number of seats and the alliance of the parties. Nitish Kumar had fought with the grand alliance last time while this time he stood with the BJP.
In the 2015 elections, the BJP had contested 157 seats while this time it contested 110 seats. RJD’s situation was almost the same. He had contested 101 seats last time while this time in 144 seats.
There has been more or less no change in the pre-poll seats of the ruling coalition and the opposition grand coalition in the Assembly. Apart from the LJP, the BJP and the JDU had a total of 125 MLAs.
