New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand welcome at the White House on Thursday. US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden welcomed PM, Modi, with state honors. This event was also special because, for the first time, the people of the Indian community living in America were also given the opportunity to enter the White House during the meeting of the two. PM Modi also thanked Biden for this. Both the leaders also addressed the people present there after the meeting.

Joe Biden said, ‘The relationship between America and India is one of the most defining relationships in the 21st century. PM Narendra Modi has returned to the White House. It is my privilege that I am the first person to welcome you during this state visit. QUAD (an organization formed by India, America, Japan, and Australia) has become stronger with your cooperation. We have strengthened QUAD to make the Indo-Pacific region open, free, and secure.

Biden also spoke on Russia
Joe Biden further said, ‘Decades later, people will look back and say that the Quad turned the course of history for global good. India and America are fighting a battle to eradicate poverty. We are working together on expanding access to healthcare, addressing climate change and tackling food and energy insecurity caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine.

What did PM Modi say in the White House?
PM Narendra Modi said, ‘The people of the Indian community are increasing the value of India in America with their hard work and dedication. You are the real strength of our relationship. I thank President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden for giving me this honor. US President Biden and I will hold bilateral talks in a short while and discuss regional and global issues. I am sure our conversation will be positive.

PM Modi further said, ‘For the first time the doors of the White House have been opened for the people of the Indian community living in America. You all are the real strength of India. Both countries are based on democratic values. In the post-Covid era, the friendship between India and America will prove to be very important for the world. I am grateful to Biden for this honor. Narendra Modi said, ‘I wish that the tricolor of India and the flag of America touch new heights. I thank you on behalf of 140 crore Indians.
