Significantly, after the comment on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Governor and BJP leader Trivedi are the target of the opposition. After the Governor’s comment on Shivaji Maharaj, no action has been taken against him, which is being demanded by the opposition. That’s why the parties have unanimously called for the bandh. This bandh has been supported by various merchant unions, Maratha Seva Sangh, Muslim organizations, Dalit organizations, auto unions, bank unions, and various sports associations.
This was the statement of the governor
The Governor of Maharashtra was addressing a function at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in Aurangabad last month. During this, he said that if someone asks who is your icon, then you do not need to go out in search of someone. You will find them right here in Maharashtra. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has now become an old idol. You can see new people as role models. From Babasaheb Ambedkar to Nitin Gadkari.
After this statement of the Governor, a political storm arose in Maharashtra. An emotional and iconic figure in Maharashtra, irrespective of political affiliation, the governor’s remarks on the Maratha warrior did not go down well with the leaders. The statement created a massive uproar and drew condemnation from Maratha organizations and opposition leaders alike.
