WFH, vaccine passes and face masks

London: The British Government has been alerted amidst the rapidly increasing cases of Omicron variant of Coronavirus in Britain. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson implemented strict Covid-19 restrictions on Wednesday. In this, people were ordered to work from home (WFH), apply masks in public places and use Vaccine Pass. Through these restrictions, there is an attempt to slow down the speed of Omicron.

Britain is one of the countries worst affected by the Corona epidemic. Boris Johnson said Omicron was spreading rapidly and he had no choice but to implement ‘Plan B’. A vaccine booster program is going on in the country. However, the restrictions implemented now are completely different from the lockdown implemented last year. But the new restrictions have been said to be too tight, as the city center’s restaurants, cafes, and shops were expected to make good money during Christmas and sit in hopes of expanding their business. MPs from Johnson’s party are themselves angry with him about the new restrictions. These MPs fear the economic impact of the new restrictions.

Stock market collapse due to Plan B
In the news conference, British PM Johnson said, I think that the situation will be fixed soon and I fully believe that it will happen. We know that autocratic thinking about economic growth can lead to a huge increase in the number of hospitalizations. The sad thing is that due to this, the death rate can also increase. At the same time, as soon as the news of Plan B came to the fore, there was a decline in the stock market. Investors withdrew their bets on the Bank of England interest rate hike next week. People fear that due to the new restrictions, there may be an economic slowdown.

Britain will deal with Omicron without lockdown
After rapid vaccination, all restrictions implemented in England were lifted in July. Johnson has pledged that he will deal with Corona this time without implementing the fourth Covid lockdown. At the same time, under the new restrictions, masks will have to be applied again in public transport and shops.

Apart from this, people have been asked to work from their homes. Face masks will be required in public places like cinemas and theaters and a Covid pass will be mandatory for going to nightclubs and places with large crowds. So far 568 cases of Omicron variants have been found in the UK.
