Oxford honored Malala Yousafzai with ‘Honorary Fellowship’

London: Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel laureate and Pakistani activist working for girls’ education, was given an honorary fellowship by Oxford University’s Linacre College. With this, Malala became the first Pakistani to receive this honor. This has been announced by the Oxford Pakistan Program (OPP). Malala was given this award in a ceremony. Nobel Laureate Sir Paul Nurse and Dr. Fran Ginwala, the first Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of South Africa, have also been awarded this Honorary Fellowship by the College.

During this, Malala reminisced about meeting her friends at Lincre College and praised OPP’s influence, saying that this partnership is changing the lives of Pakistani students. Principal Dr. Nick Brown praised Malala’s efforts and said, ‘Malala is known all over the world for her extraordinary work in support of women’s education.

Malala’s father also praised her
On the other hand, Malala’s father Ziauddin Yusufzai said, ‘It is a matter of great pride for my daughter to get this honor. I could see the joy on Malala’s face when she received the honor. As a proud father, I am very happy for my daughter.

“I know Malala will use this opportunity to advance her work and collaborate with others to find solutions to the challenges facing access to education for girls,” he said.
