Chennai: The orgy of cyclonic storm ‘Mandus’ continues. Normal life has been completely thrown out of gear due to the storm and heavy rains. Chennai RMC, DDGM informed that Cyclone Mandus has crossed the coast and lies in a deep depression. Its power is waning. It is moving in the northwest direction, therefore, strong winds with a speed of 55-65 kmph will prevail over northwest areas, which will reduce to 30-40 kmph by evening. Will happen every hour.

According to the India Meteorological Department, water logging was observed in the Pattinapakkam area of Chennai due to incessant rains lashing the cities under the influence of Cyclone Mandus. Cyclone Mandaus is likely to cross north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts between Puducherry and Sriharikota around Mamallapuram. Wind speed reaching 65-75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph is very likely today midnight or tomorrow morning.
