Twitter has said that even though President Donald Trump has not lost the election, it will complete the transfer process. Potts (President of the US or POTUS) is the official Twitter account of the President of the United States and is different from the account of Donald Trump from which he tweets. Twitter said there was no need to share information between Trump’s team and Biden’s team, which is set to become the new president, in the process of handing over the account. The company said all existing tweets on the account would be stored and handed over to Biden as a new account without any tweets on the day of the swearing-in.
“Twitter is actively preparing for the transfer of the White House’s institutional Twitter accounts on January 20, 2021,” Twitter spokesman Nick Pacelio said in an e-mail. According to the company, the same will happen with the Twitter accounts of the White House, Vice President, etc.
