New Delhi: There is good news for the owners of Ola scooters. After the strictness of the government, now Ola company is going to return 9 thousand to 19 thousand rupees to its customers. In fact, the company had collected Rs from its customers in the name of e-scooter chargers. But the company could not do this. Now the Ministry of Heavy Industries has informed that from the financial year 2019-20 till March 30 this year, the company will refund the payment taken in the name of the charger to those who buy the OLA S1 Pro model.
According to the information received from the ministry, Ola company is taking subsidies under Fame, and according to its rules, the charger money cannot be recovered from the customers. In the name of the Ola Charger, the customers were being charged a higher price for the scooter. The ministry had also received a complaint in this regard. When it was investigated, this complaint was found to be correct. After this, the ministry has taken action against Ola.
Ola took a quick decision
Seeing the strictness of the ministry, Ola has taken a quick decision. The company has already informed before any kind of action from the ministry that it is going to pay Rs 130 crores taken from the customers in the name of the charger. Although the company has not given information about when and within how much time it will make this payment.
Notice to these companies as well
With this, the ministry has found Okinawa and Hero Electric guilty in another case. In this regard, a notice has been issued by the Ministry. According to the information, a recovery notice of Rs 133 crore has been issued to Hero and Rs 116 crore to Okinawa from the ministry.
In fact, both companies went against the rules and used more imported spares in their vehicles. These spares could have been manufactured in India itself and a huge amount of money could have been saved. For these spares, companies also took subsidies from the government under FAME. If found to be correct during the investigation, the ministry has issued notices for recovery from both companies.
