New Delhi: As the country is gearing up for the festive season of Navratri and Diwali, oil companies have delivered a big blow to the customers by raising the price of their 19 kg LPG commercial gas cylinders by a whopping Rs 209. The new prices are applicable from today i.e. October 1.
The price of LPG commercial gas cylinders in New Delhi will now be Rs 1,731.50, up from Rs 1,522.50 in September. The oil companies had reduced the price of commercial gas cylinders by Rs 158 on September 1 and by about Rs 100 in August.
However, there is no change in the prices of domestic cylinders, which are currently at Rs 903 for a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi. The Central Government slashed the domestic LPG gas cylinder price by Rs 200 on August 30, giving relief to the common people from inflation.
The beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme are getting the maximum benefit of the Central Government’s cut on domestic cylinders. They were already getting a subsidy of Rs 200 on domestic gas cylinders. Now, they are getting an additional discount of Rs 200, making the domestic cylinder available for only Rs 703 for them.
