Bhopal: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert on Friday after forecasting hailstorms and lightning accompanied by lightning and strong winds at a speed of 40 to 60 kmph in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the forecast issued by IMD, in the districts of Bhopal, Ujjain, and Chambal divisions of the state and in the districts of Dhar, Indore, Datia, Gwalior, Khargone, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Barwani, Sagar, Chhindwara, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Seoni, and Katni. During the next 24 hours (Friday morning to Saturday morning) lightning with hailstorms and thundershowers is very likely in a few places. Along with this, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour in some places.

IMD has issued this warning by issuing Orange Alert. Apart from this, the IMD has warned some places in the districts of Rewa and Shahdol divisions of the state and in the districts of Guna, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Narsinghpur, Khandwa, Burhanpur and Panna in the next 24 hours (from Friday morning to Saturday morning). But ‘Yellow Alert’ has also been issued for thunder with thunder and strong winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
