In a government notification, the State Disaster Management Authority has said that the mandatory requirement of thorough vaccination for travel in local trains as specified by the State Government is hereby extended to the essential services personnel as well as all government employees. Further, the Universal Pass which will be a mandatory requirement for the purpose of travel will henceforth be issued only to those citizens who fall under the above definition of a vaccinated person, irrespective of whether they are related to essential services or not.
Further, in respect of issuance of passes for train travel (local trains and passenger trains), any type of pass (monthly/quarterly/half-yearly, etc.) is permitted to be issued to those passengers who fall under the category of the vaccinated person.
After the ever-increasing rush in Mumbai local trains, the Railways has now decided to restore 100% services. Under this, Mumbai local trains will start operating at full capacity on the Western and Central lines. According to the Railways, complete services will be started from the coming Thursday. This will be the first time after the Corona epidemic that the Railways is going to restore 100% of services.
