New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the preliminary exam schedule for the medical entrance examinations to be conducted in 2024. The schedule includes the date for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024, which is one of the most sought-after exams for admission to postgraduate medical courses in India.
NEET PG 2024 Exam Date
According to the NBEMS timetable, the NEET PG 2024 exam will be held on March 3, 2024. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode at various test centers across the country. The exam will consist of 300 multiple-choice questions covering the subjects taught in the MBBS curriculum. The duration of the exam will be 3 hours and 30 minutes.
The NEET PG 2024 exam date is much earlier than the previous years, as the exam was usually held in the last week of June or the first week of July. This change is by the recommendations of the National Medical Commission (NMC), which is the apex regulatory body for medical education in India. The NMC has suggested that the NEET PG exam should be conducted in the first quarter of the year so that the counseling and admission process can be completed by the end of August.
However, the NBEMS has clarified that the exam date announced is only tentative and subject to change. The board will declare the final and confirmed date for the NEET PG 2024 exam soon. NEET PG 2024 Registration
The NBEMS is expected to release the details regarding the registration and application process for the NEET PG 2024 exam this week. The registration will be done online through the official website of the NBEMS. Candidates will have to fill in their personal, academic, and contact details, upload their scanned documents, choose their preferred exam center, and pay the application fee.
The application fee for the NEET PG 2024 exam is likely to be Rs. 5,000 for general and OBC candidates, and Rs. 3,750 for SC, ST, PWD, and EWS candidates. The fee can be paid online through a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
Registration for the NEET PG 2024 exam will start in the last week of January or the first week of February 2024. The last date to register will be in the last week of February or the first week of March 2024. Candidates are advised to register well in advance and avoid the last-minute rush.
NEET PG 2024 Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the NEET PG 2024 exam are as follows:
- Candidates must have obtained their MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate from a medical college or institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the State Medical Council (SMC).
- Candidates must have completed their one-year compulsory rotating internship or be likely to complete it by March 31, 2024.
- Candidates must possess a valid registration certificate, either provisional or permanent, issued by the MCI or the SMC.
- Candidates who have studied or passed MBBS from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Andhra Pradesh are not eligible for the 50% All India Quota seats unless they are nominated by the Government of India under the central pool seats.
NEET PG 2024 Admit Card
The NBEMS will issue the admit card for the NEET PG 2024 exam in the last week of February or the first week of March 2024. The admit card will be available for download on the official website of the NBEMS. Candidates will have to log in with their application number and password to download their admit card.
The admit card will contain the details of the candidate, such as name, roll number, photograph, signature, category, and exam center. The admit card will also have the instructions and guidelines for the exam day. Candidates must carry their admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the exam center. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without the admit card.
NEET PG 2024 Result
The NBEMS will declare the result of the NEET PG 2024 exam in the last week of March or the first week of April 2024. The result will be available on the official website of the NBEMS. Candidates will have to log in with their roll number and date of birth to check their results.
The result will display the marks obtained by the candidate, the percentile score, the rank, and the qualifying status. The NBEMS will also release the merit list for the 50% All India Quota seats, the state quota seats, and the private and deemed university seats. The merit list will be based on the rank and the preferences of the candidates.
