MGs 2 seater will be launched on January 5

New Delhi: British automaker MG (MG) has confirmed that the MG Air EV will be launched in India in 2023. According to media reports, this 2-door electric car will debut on January 5. The company will also announce the price of the MG Hector facelift on the same day.

The model will be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo to be held from January 13 to 18, 2023. MG says that the new Air EV will be premium over the Tata Tiago EV, which will cost between Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh.

Available in Indonesia
The MG Air EV is essentially the re-badged Wuling Air EV that is available in the Indonesian market. Its price here is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh. The powertrain system of the new MG electric car will include a battery pack with a capacity of around 20kWh-25kWh and a 40bhp, electric motor.

150 km range
The new MG 2-door EV will offer a range of 150 km on a full charge in real-world diving conditions. It will come with FWD (Front-Wheel Drive) system. MG Motor India will share the battery locally with Tata Autocomp. The overall length of the EV will be around 2.9 meters and the wheelbase will be 2010mm.

The upcoming MG Air EV is a compact, 2-door car with a boxy stance. Upfront, it gets squarish headlamps, an angular front bumper, and a slim fog lamp assembly. It has a small hood with a black stripe and a light bar in the middle that leads to the ORVMs on the front. The EV comes with 12-inch steel rims with plastic hub caps, a charging port door, and small taillamps. Inside, the new Air EV will feature dual 10.25-inch displays – one for the infotainment and one for the instrumentation. It will also get connected car tech, keyless entry, automatic climate control, and steering-mounted controls.
