New Delhi: A major defect has been detected in Maruti Suzuki’s popular car Baleno. Due to this, the company has called back thousands of models from customers. The company on Friday said it is recalling 7,213 units of the Baleno RS model due to a suspected defect in the vacuum pump that helps brake function. The company said that affected vehicle owners will get a message from a Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer workshop to replace the defective parts free of cost. No charge will be taken from the customers.
Maruti Suzuki India said in a regulatory filing that the recall will affect vehicles manufactured between October 27, 2016, and November 1, 2019. The company said in its statement, “It seems that there is some fault in the vacuum pump, which assists in the brake function. In some cases, the vehicle may require more effort to apply the brake pedal. In January this year, the company recalled 17,362 units of Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno, and Grand Vitara models to replace a faulty airbag controller.
The company will repair these vehicles for free
In a post on its website, Maruti Suzuki India also said that it will start a service campaign for 676 vehicles of the Ertiga and XL6 models manufactured between June 24, 2022, and July 7, 2022, to fix a problem with the front driveshaft. Will be done. This problem can cause strange noise while taking turns, however, the vehicle’s function is not affected.
