Explaining the government’s decision to the media, the country’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif said that markets and malls will now close at 8:30 pm, while marriage halls in Pakistan will close at 10:00 pm. . With this measure, the government will save 60 billion rupees. Some of the other measures taken by the country to deal with the situation include stopping the manufacture of energy-consuming bulbs from February 1, while the production of fans made of old technology will be stopped from July. The Defense Minister told that these measures will help in saving another 22 billion rupees.
The government will save 92 billion rupees by using less gas
The government will also mandate the use of Conical Gysers within a year, which will save Rs 92 billion by using less gas, and another Rs 4 billion through alternative use of street lights. Asif Khwaja said that under the scheme, energy usage will be reduced in all government buildings and offices and the policy of working from home will also be completed in 10 days. He further said that the cabinet meeting was held in sunlight and no lights were lit during this time.
