California: Unknown people vandalized the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Central Park, Davis City, California. This incident took place on 28 January.T his statue was gifted to the city of Davis by the Government of India in the year 2016. The Indian government has condemned the incident in the city.

The Embassy of India in Washington DC has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. Also demanded the harshest action against those responsible for this disgusting act. The Consulate General of India in San Francisco has also separately taken up the matter with the city of Davis and local law enforcement officials, on which investigations have been initiated.

At the same time, the Mayor of Davis expressed deep regret over the incident and said that he has started the investigation. He said that those who do such disgusting work will not be spared.
