What Happened?
The incident occurred when villagers began cleaning the well, which had been used for idol immersion during the Gangaur festival. Initially, one person entered the well to remove debris and silt but failed to resurface. In a desperate attempt to save him, seven others jumped into the well one after another. Tragically, all eight individuals became trapped and lost their lives.
Eyewitness Gopichand Patel described the horrifying sequence of events:
“One person went in for cleaning but didn’t return. Others followed to help, but they all got trapped due to the toxic gases and sludge.”
Rescue Operation

- A 15-member team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was deployed.

- Anil (son of Atmaram) – still missing
