Washington: US President Joe Biden blamed Islamic extremists for the attacks in Kabul and vowed to avenge the lives of those killed in the attack, saying, “We will help you by catching you (the attackers)”. Will punish.”
Two suicide bombers and gunmen attacked a mob near Kabul airport, killing 13 US soldiers and wounding 18 others. A total of more than 100 people have died in the attacks. Biden told reporters at the White House on Thursday, “Those who perpetrated this attack and intend to harm America, keep in mind that we will not spare you.” We will not forget this. We will catch you and punish it. I will protect the interests and people of my country…..”
The president said ISIS-K was behind the horrific attack on the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul and a hotel near it.
Biden said, “As you all know, the terrorist attacks that we were talking about and which the intelligence system was concerned about, were carried out by an organization called ISIS-K. They took the lives of American service members stationed at the airport and seriously injured several others. They also killed many civilians and injured many others.”
Biden said he had ordered his commanders to prepare a plan to attack ISIS-K targets, leadership and facilities. He said he was still committed to completing the evacuation operation in Kabul by August 31.
“We can and certainly will,” Biden said. I have given them the same order. We will not bow down to terrorists. We will not let them stop our campaign. We will continue the evacuation operation.”
The president said it was in the interest of the Taliban not to allow ISIS-K to spread further in Afghanistan. He also said that no evidence has been found so far of the complicity of the Taliban and ISIS in carrying out the attack on the airport.
