Warsaw: Joe Biden of America met with the foreign and defense ministers of Ukraine in Warsaw, the capital of Poland on Saturday. This is the first time since the start of Russia’s invasion that the US president and top Kyiv officials have held one-on-one talks. This meeting of Joe Biden with Ukrainian ministers in Poland can serve to provoke Russia. In fact, Russia has already been blaming America for creating the situation of war in Ukraine.
Biden attended a meeting with US and Ukrainian foreign policy and defense leaders here on Saturday morning. “You are in the middle of a fight for democracy and oligarchs,” the president told members of the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. He said, “Is democracy going to last or is autocracy going to prevail?”
Biden said that “the most important thing we have been saying from the beginning is that everyone has to unite to force Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the war.” He appreciated the humanitarian efforts to help the people of Ukraine.
Biden praises Poland for sheltering Ukrainian refugees
A day earlier on Friday, US President Joe Biden praised Poland for sheltering more than two million refugees who fled Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He also discussed with human experts what should be done to overcome the increasing problems of the people.
Biden said he had hoped to move closer to the border but was held back due to security concerns. But he still wanted to visit Poland to underline that the aid he is providing has “big consequences” as Europe is facing its biggest refugee crisis since World War II, he said.
